OVERLAPPING TOP – Architectural Structure, Signature Layering
The Overlapping Top takes a classic short-sleeve shirt and reworks it through This Is Fred’s signature architectural approach. Cut from structured 100% cotton drill, the oversized silhouette creates a clean, sculptural shape designed to make an impact from every angle.
A high funnel neckline and concealed button stand keep the front minimal and uninterrupted, while snap fastening closures provide a clean, streamlined finish. The extended length and angular hem enhance the strong proportions of the piece.
At the back, the design transforms through a distinctive overlapping construction, with asymmetric panels crossing over one another to create depth, movement and a striking architectural finish.
Each piece is handmade in my East London studio, bringing together considered construction, distinctive design and small-scale craftsmanship.
Wear it closed for a sharp, minimal silhouette or layer it over mesh and pair with oversized trousers for a complete This Is Fred look.
